[dev update] WEAGES Regional Weather & Geophysical Effects/Data Integration [DONE]

March 19 Update; Status of the work for this 0.6.17 version:

  • [WIP]  Adding assets: New Infrastructures and Production Modes.
  • [WIP] Weather and Geophysics System (WEAGES).
  • Adding assets: 2D pictures and icons.
  • Full UI standardization.
  • Universe
    • [WIP => DONE] implementation of WEAGES data into the root structure of the orbital objects, ie: the Regional Weather / Geophysical Effects Comptability Lists and a special flag for the processing of them.
      This also include the triggered/effective RWE/RGE lists for each region of an object.
  • Weather and Geophysics System (WEAGES)
    • [WIP => DONE] creation of a XML database to store particular Regional Weather / Geophysical Effect (RWE/RGE) data. The rest is hardcoded in specific units of the code. No choice since there are somehow complex rules and calculations specific for each RWE/RGE.

The data integration for all the data structures of the RWEs/RGEs is done.

The design of the effects itself is well advanced, I only have to work on the design of the geophysical effects.
So the implementation of the rules and calculations of the RWEs/RGEs start tonight.

Once done I will have to implement the process and update of these effects, which is the second and final part of the WEAGES.

As usual for FARC, the design of these effects is nothing simple, but I want to have, at least, coherent rules that could rendering reality somehow… even in a very abstracted way.

In the end, the purpose of this system is to instillate some life and certainly adding many challenges and/or difficulties for any colony of any faction that will settle on planets. And it will be of course updated and expanded over the time during the development of the game.

I will make a post when the 2 RWEs and 3 RGEs are implemented.
