December 12 Update; Status of the work for this 0.6.16 version:
fixing the memory leak in the creation of a 3D scene, due to bad code with the generation of satellites. adding a full and definitive implementation of Low and Geosynchronous Orbits, including changes in 3D and user’s interface. removing the 3D space units and replacing them by 2D counterparts (icons) adding a Planetary System List to quickbrowse the current planetary system in the 3D view. addition of another HUD button on the 3D view to open the Orbital Object panel. addition of other HUD button to open the panels for Population, Settlements, Industry, and CSM Events. updating of the content of Help & Knowledge Base panel.
- adding assets: 2D pictures, icons and new infrastructures.
- Interface – Help & Knowledge Base:
- [New: DONE] the Knowledge Base is in its own window now.
- [New: DONE] the Help Panel is removed entirely. The description of keyboard shortcuts is directly integrated into the Knowledge Base.
I simplified the help given by concentrating the whole into the Knowledge Base. So the old Help Panel doesn’t exists anymore and the shortcut keys are detailed into the KB directly.
And the KB is in its own window, the same way as the Star Systems Browser is. Excepted that the player can min/max the window. Here’s a in-game screenshot of it below:
So from today (after my day job) and until the 23rd I will add assets; I will concentrate on a few new production infrastructures and if I have time I will add some 2D assets.
It is certainly not the last time I will add assets until the completion of this alpha 10, so, one step among many others.
